I – THE WHEAT OF THE HOUSE OF BREAD (BETHLEHEM)

From an unknown seed,
from the primordial origin,
it sprang toward its destiny
of storm and abundance.
In what bread
or in what useless thorn
will it end by dying?

To You, Love,
to You, Bread of Life,
I pray that once again,
as in that manger long ago,
it may germinate generously
in the soil of promise,
and drink from the fountain
of Your wounded side.

May the humble ears of wheat
ripen beneath the sun,
may they become the nourishment
of the final banquet.

And when the time arrives
for the final threshing,
to You, Love,
to You, Bread of Life,
I pray that once again,
as at the Holy Supper,
the grains of its wheat
may become the white flour
of the bread that You transform

into redeeming flesh.

II – WATER → WINE → BLOOD

From an unknown spring,
from a distant source,
it arose toward its destiny
through ravines and valleys.
Into what sea,
into what final tide
will it end by flowing?

To You, Love,
to You, Channel of Life,
I pray that once again,
as at that wedding feast,
You gather its clear water
into a tranquil lake
to flood earthly vineyards
with jubilation.

May the grapes upon the vines
ripen beneath the sun,
may they become sweet wine
for days filled with roses.

And when the time arrives
for fermentation,
to You, Love,
to You, Truth and Life,
I pray that once again,
as at the Holy Supper,
You transform its aged red wine
of the final hour
into blood
through Your divine essence.
