FRUIT IN SEASON

An embrace of wounded petals
engenders the word in silence.

DAWNING OF HONEY AND TULLE

The embrace awakens upon the windowsills
with gleams of lingering atoms,
and a splendid instant
of ancient universes
recreates paradise in the present.

The fragrance of fresh green grass
permeates the whitewashed walls,
passes through the barriers,
the doors, the windows,
intoxicating all with dreamlike gardens.

The doves stir in the wind
their wings that dream of infinity,
sparrows build their nests,
crickets court in circling songs,
the words of reunion awaken.

The worn steps of love
are carpeted with reborn passions;
there is firewood in the hearth,
there is salt, wine, and flour,
and emotion shines upon the windowpanes.

The living room is adorned with lace curtains,
with vases and flowers of remembrance;
the ancient portraits
become faces in the mirror,
time lies stranded in oblivion.

The fire of consumed embers
revives beneath the breath of essence,
burning ancient grudges,
consuming old offenses
in flames of forgiveness and closeness.

A handful of evening stars
warms the winter night;
beauty returns
dressed in constellations
to the silvered rooftops of life.

And that original light

of the rainbow of covenant illumines the gaze;

the bodies are laid bare,

the souls entwine in a clear dawning of honey and tulle.
